While the playoff teams grind through match play for the LASN Cup Traveling Belt, the rest of the tour tees off right beside them in The August Open — 27 holes, same course, same morning, none of the playoff sweat.

The format

• 27 holes, played as three 9-hole segments — the same rhythm as the bracket running next to you

• 2-player scramble, gross scoring. The format you've played all season. No handicaps, no asterisks.

• Lowest combined 27-hole total takes the Open title

• Ready play all day. This isn't the PGA Tour — and on a 27-hole day, it's really not.

Who it's for

Anyone not in the playoff field. Finished 17th? Joined mid-season? Partner ghosted you in June? Doesn't matter. If you can make a 7 AM tee time, you're in.

Why show up

• 27 holes of golf while the belt gets decided a fairway over

• Side comps run all day: Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Bonus Hole, and the Putt on Demand pot
